  • November 30, 2006 - I met you a couple or so years ago when you were in Arlington, TX at Barnes and Noble, you signed two books for me Undaunted and Black Monday. Needless to say I never read them since you signed them but the I decide I wanted to see what this Stan Turner was about, and I am HOOKED!!  I had to go on a hunt to find the rest of the books of which now I have 7.  Can not wait for more!!  I just love and Stan and all his issues!  His wife really puts up with a lot, but Stan puts up with more than she knows.  I am a #1 fan of yours now, and have set out to books stores and yes more than one to find the other books your write mostly the one with Rich Coleman but NO ONE has them!!!  How do I find them and which one is the first one, I must have it!!  Well I still love Stan will continue to track his books.
  • Thank you for bring a great LATE night read, they are hard to put down and I am missing sleep but they are worth it, because you never know what will happen next. Thank you again, your fan from Arlington, TX.   Keep writing your great! ... Donna from Arlington.

  • April 8, 2006 - I have just finished reading your book, Trouble In Trinidad. It was very interesting to me. Once I got started I could not put it down. Everything seemed so real and therefore kept my interest as I read. In reading the book, I could not keep from wondering just how you became so knowledgeable about Trinidad. The towns, beaches, bays, and forest were so interesting. Perhaps you were stationed in Trinidad at some time. It would be to my interest to know your knowledge of the area.  I was stationed in Trinidad many years ago, and therefore I recognized the name and places that you mentioned in the book. I went to parties at the Governor's Palace, swam on the beaches, and visited the Botanical Gardens. I just wanted you to know that I enjoyed the book. I have signed your register. Forrest W. Tippen, Sr. Abilene, Texas.

  • September 12, 2005 - I really enjoyed your Second Chair. I had forgotten that the endings were so action-packed. Mary K. Stetson
  • July 5, 2005 - I just completed reading your book ,Trouble in Trinidad, and just wanted  to let you to know how much I enjoyed it. ... as well as enjoying the story itself, I thought it  was fascinating to run across familiar names and places connected with the Dallas area since I was born and raised there.  Also, I learned a lot about Trinidad ----a country I knew nothing about until reading your book!   Thanks for a great read.   I'll look forward to sharing it with other members of my family .  Good luck on your future writing endeavors. Mary Ann Green
  • June 20, 2005 - I finished your book (Plastic Gods) a couple of weeks ago and thought it was great!  It really kept me turning the pages. Kellee New
  • May 24, 2005 - The Trouble In Trinidad CD was an excellent story! Involves espionage, romance, youth, the military, terrorism! Everything you can imagine. Like a 12 hour episode of 24! Shannon.
  • December 1, 2004 - I first met with you about 4 years ago in San Angelo,TX. At the time I was in Graduate School and working at Hastings part time. Before Meeting you I had never read any of your books or even heard of you, in fact I was not the person that read books on my free time. After meeting you, I wanted to read your book. At the time you were promoting Second Chair. Tne next day I searched my store to be sure I got the first two Stan Turner books, paying particular attention to fact that they were signed as well from the day before. I read them, I loved them and I love Stan Turner. I really became hooked on following Stan Turner and think that is why I kept reading. I have read most of your books and the ones I haven't read I have bought for future reading. I now read your books, John Grisham, and Dan Brown. The past two years for me have been an incredibly wonderful busy whirlwind with things in my personal and business life changing dramatically and I now live in Beaumont, TX. Short story long I would love to meet you again and Beaumont is one hour East down I-10 from the book signing you are doing in Houston, TX on FEB. 5 and 1 1/2 hours from The Woodlands where you will be on the 6th. We have a huge Barnes & Noble Booksellers here and I can get you the address and contact info if you need. Beaumont would be a better place if you stopped by. If not, my wife and I will come see you in Houston in February. Mr. Manchee, thank you for your books, thank you for Stan Turner, and thank you for getting me to read in my free time again, I am a better person because of you. Donald R. Dean
  • October 25, 2004 - I met you at Barnes and Noble in Ft. Worth.  You were signing "Cash Call" and I bought it.  When I discovered it was fourth of a series, I purchased the first one and have been trying to buy the others so I can read them in order.  I'm an avid reader and always trying to get my husband to read.  He has read your novels! Thanks for the entertainment.
  • October 16, 2004 - I met you last Friday at the Mechanicsburg, PA Mystery Book store.  I walked in the store for the first time that afternoon. I bought Deadly Distraction and finished it by Saturday night.  Had to let you know that I enjoyed the story.  Will have to get some of the other Stan Turner series.  I have to see if the other books use the idea of telling the story from 2 persons.  That was refreshing, since I don't remember reading any that way before.  Keep writing, your book is a 'keeper'. Louise
  • September 11, 2004 - ...Of course, once I started reading Deadly Distractions, I couldn't put it down. It was thoroughly enjoyable. Mary Stetson.
  • September 5, 2004 - Hey, Bill, I've read the first three of your Stan Turner books, and I think, each one gets better.  Good luck on this one. I've enjoyed watching your success in the novel business.  You are quite a success and both Henry and I are very glad of that success.  As I said, we'll be in touch later in the year, but kudos to you. You've been a success in at least two different areas.  WHAT A GUY!! Henry & Bette from Anacortes, Washington.
  • Aug 22, 2004 - Just wanted to say thanks again for signing my book Deadly Distractions at Barnes & Noble in Grapevine.  I don't know if you remember me or not, but I'm the one that had the camera phone and you were nice enough to hold up your book and pose for the picture!  Anyway, I finally got around to having a chance to start on the book today and it is definitely a page turner!  I work for American Eagle at DFW Airport and we weren't very busy today (Sat 21AUG) and was able to read alot of it while at work.  It is most definitely an excellent read and I commend you on your great work.  Another reason I like it is because the majority of the story takes place right here on our home turf.  Keep up the great work and the next book I will read is "Trouble In Trinidad"  Thanks again. Mike Bryan.
  • July 31, 2004 - Dear Mr. Manchee -it was a thrill to read your latest novel Deadly Distractions, I sacrificed hours of good night sleep because I wasn't able to put this book down! This made it a special pleasure doing the cover design - I hope you like the result and I would love to work for you in the future - especially since the most evil character in the book happened to be a book designer. Hm. I am sure I can fix that. Best regards, Nicole Schnell
  • May 11, 2004 - Mr. Manchee - I met you at the NETWO workshop in Winnsboro and bought your book, "Plastic Gods".   Just wanted to compliment your great story-telling ability and weaving of the mysteries and murders.  It was a book I could not put down, as a matter of fact one night as I was nearing the end, I went to bed and could not sleep because I had to know what happened.  Keep up the good work.  Hope you have much success. Alene Dunn, Jasper, Texas
  • May 10, 2004- Just finished Second Chair.  Enjoyed it very much.  My girfriend has Plastic Gods which I will borrow from her Thursday night. Hope to read all of your books, and to hear you speak again.Charlotte Hilliard
  • April 24, 2004 - I can't wait to start reading Second Chair.  You probably answered my question yesterday, but I missed it if you did, what is the title of the first Stan Turner Mystery.  I'm copying everything on your website, and will read it all asap, but was wondering where Second Chair fits in  the line up.I really enjoyed your talk yesterday, and you do look a lot like Redford. LOLHope to hear you speak again, and hope to read all of your books.Charlotte Hilliard
  • April 24, 2004 - Again, I enjoyed the conference and your presentation was entertaining and helpful. I see you are a disenchanted Republican. So am I, but I can't keep away from the daily news. I'd have more time to write if I did. I may be able to wean myself away one of these days. I did get a piece written for a writing class I am taking here before it met this afternoon. Your goal of a book a year isn't overly ambitious except you are keeping your day job. I hope you become financial able to wean yourself away from that one day.Gale Gill, Little Rock Arkansas.
  • February 18, 2004 - Love your books, write faster! - Lori Chinn, Auburn, WA.
  • January 20, 2004 - I read Yes, We're Open and learned a lot. You really told it like it was. Every small businessman should get a hold of this book. This is really something to read! I gave it to one of my friends and he thought it was some kind a book too. Roland from Rowlett, Texas
  • January 19, 2004 - I finished Trouble In Trinidad. I enjoyed the suspense. It was hard to put it down. The storyline kept you guessing...Sean from Wylie, Texas.
  • December 28, 2003 - I've been reading Yes, We're Open. It is full of good sound practices. It reminds me of my old theory that "You can wine and dine yourself out of business, but you can't wine and dine yourself into business." Paul from Whitney, Texas
  • December 24, 2003 - I had the opportunity to read Brash Endeavor over the holidays--what an interesting story! I finished it in less than 24 hours--couldn't put it down. Thanks for the interesting read. Susie from Plano, Texas
  • December 18, 2003 - I met you at Town East Mall on Sunday, December 14, 2003.  I bought
Death Pact and Plastic Gods for my 15 yr old son Vincent which you signed. I went ahead and gave them to him and he has finished both books and loves them.  I am almost finished with Death Pact and really am enjoying the book. It was very informative, quick read book on what to look out for and how to solve problems. It is a must read for anyone who is a small business owner. Having been a small business owner myself, I have found myself in many of the examples used in the book....David from Addison, Texas.

  • June 19, 2003 - I just wanted to write you to tell you how much I LOVE your books. You see I am not much of a reader and one day I was walking in Barnes and Noble and you stopped me and asked what kind of books I like, I said mysteries and then you handed me Second Chair.  I debated on getting it thinking it would just sit around but I had you sign it and took it home. I decided to read it that night and let me tell you it was so hard to put down. I have never found a book that grabbed my attention like that. After I read that one Cash Call came out and my husband surprised me and got it for me and you had signed that one as well. Those two books were the best I have ever read, I have never been so interested in reading. I just ordered #1 and #2 (I kinda started in the
middle) and thought I might as well read the first two while I wait for the new one.   You are an amazing author and I just wanted to thank you for making reading interesting, most books are real slow at the beginning but your books grab you from the start and you can't put it down till the end.
    Melissa Oberly
  • May 29, 2003 - I met you at Hastings in Midland ... I received the box of books you sent my library and I was very pleased with them. I put the books on the new arrival shelf in the front and I am getting great comments about them. I am very appreciative of your generosity. Helen Elkins, Rotan Public Library
  • May 2, 2003 -  I just finished Deadly Distractions and I thought it was great!!  It flowed nicely and certainly kept my attention.  I liked the different chapters voices from both Stan and Paula.  I also liked the fact that there were three seemingly different conflicts going on that all tied together nicely.  And the twist at the end was quite unexpected!!  I never saw that one coming!! Paula
  • March 25, 2003 - Thanks for the autographed copy of Second Chair. It was an easy read and a quick read with lots of twists and turns. I really enjoyed it. Ann Kruse
  • January 12, 2003. have just finished reading 'Death Pact' and I really enjoyed it.  This one is the best yet.  I hope there will be more Rich Coleman novels.  Along with the mystery and legal action, the twists and turns of this story kept me from putting this down.  Keep them comin'! Paul BartholomewWylie, TX
  • January 7, 2003. I met you at Barnes & Noble in Las Colinas & got an autographed copy of Cash Call.   I read it in a day.   I was not looking for any errors, but a few jumped out at me and I thought you might like to have a list of them so that they may be corrected in future editions. Of course these errors are most minor and do not in any way detract from the fun of the read. Best Wishes, Nick Schacht

  • November 30, 2002. William,  we met friday evening at Hastings in Ardmore, Oklahoma where I
purchased a copy of your book "CASH CALL".  I enjoyed reading it.  You tell a good story.  I went back Sunday to pick up another of your books to read and was unable to find one.  Did you not leave any there to sell?  Where can I find them?  Thank you.
    Don Black, Ardmore, OK

  • September 19, 2002 -  I met you at a PA  B&N and purchased your last two books ( the last copy of
Cash Call) - the first two were sold out.  This was my first read of Stan Turner Mysteries, and I really enjoyed them both.  I almost felt I knew Stan and his family through the insight into their personal lives - without even
having the benefit of reading the series in order. I asked you how an attorney winds up an author - I liked your answer, and hope you will continue the saga of Stan and his clients. I am off to the bookstore to purchase the first two Stan's! Thank you and keep writing!! Sincerely,
    Andrea OlsonWest Chester, PA.

I bet, though, that you didn't enjoy it as much as I did your book (Trouble in Trinidad). My little sister also read it and thought it was fantastic....Thank you once again. Best of everything with your other works...Your friend, Jenni Kalicharan, (an author from Trinidad-Tobago)
  • May 13, 2002 - We enjoyed visiting with you in St. Louis and wish you great success with your books.  It was a wonderful surprise to receive "Trouble in Trinidad" on tape.  The book is very entertaining and we listened to all but two cassette on a trip to Indianapolis.  Finished the final two tapes this past weekend. Found the book fun and an easy listen.  In August we will be camping with 4 or 5 families (depends on how many can  make it) and always exchange names of favorite mystery authors and trade books (we will be buying some more of your books).  You will be our find to share with the group. George A. Wamser
  • April 26, 2002 - Thank You for sharing about your passion for writing and about your family. You and Janet are  great examples for anyone who needs a change in their  life's voyage. People like you who have a love of life and do things to make it happen  and shares it- reaps benefits you may never calculate. MFW
  • April 2, 2002 -The first book that I read by William Manchee was Trouble in Trinidad. I loved it so much that I couldn't put it down. I finished the whole book in 1 day. It was great. I can't wait to read the rest of his books! Falyn
  • March 2, 2002 - ... Somehow I got into your site and have had the time of my life. I am not even a mystery reader; but you have me spellbound. So if THAT is ANY indication of how well you should do as an author- it is a good prognosis! You have a fantastic way with words - that is the reason I thought I would just drop you a note. You know that with the confidence you have but when you can stir up dead wood and get eyebrows to jumping- you have hit it man! How does Janet keep up with YOU! Have a wonderful day! Wishing you and yours much happiness. God Bless-Mary W.
  • February 19, 2002 - Hi - I received ...(Cash Call) ...WHAT A GREAT STORY!  I love it.  ...  I really think I liked this story even more that 2nd Chair - which I loved.  There were so many things going on at once it really kept me on the edge of my chair. Ronda
  • January 22, 2002 - Thank you so very much for ... Trouble in Trinidad. After starting to read the book I couldn't put it down. I enjoyed it tremendously, also recalling life in Plano. You are not only a good attorney but a great writer as well. My best wishes for your future work. Catherine
  • January 17, 2002 - ... I just wanted to let you know, I finally got around to reading "Undaunted." It was a very good read. Appearance-wise, the large type-size made it very easy and enjoyable to read. As far as content, every character in the book was very complex and well-developed, AMAZING characters! The plot was very, very solid; it unfolded at the perfect pace, with a few brilliantly-placed twists ... VERY impressive!!! ...Chris
  • January 9, 2002 - Thanks for Trouble in Trinidad. What's so great is first-knowing the author for so long, second-intriguing plots, and thirdly-knowing the locale as being so close to us. Charles E.
  • January 7, 2002 - ... I couldn't put it down. I read it (Trouble in Trinidad) in four evenings. It flowed easily, and is a real "page-turner." Congratulations. Keep writing. You've got a great talent!" Sherry
  • September 21, 2001 - Mom and Dad have read your last book, Trouble In Trinidad, and really enjoyed it. I am hoping to read it soon. Dad reviewed his collection and the only one he is lacking is Twice Tempted. We all enjoy your books and hope you keep writing many more. It is really an honor to know someone who is a successful writer. We can truly say "I knew him when." Take care and keep writing. Eileen Filer
  • August 16, 2001 - ...I am reading "SECOND CHAIR" and I can't put it down. It is fantastic! The web site is awesome. I want to go to the signing for "TROUBLE IN TRINIDAD." I love mystery books. ...Sandi Hart
  • August 12, 2001 - ...I like your books better than William Bernhardt's, although he's a really nice guy, too, but I'm hoping your get some of the attention he's gotten.  bye now, Mary Ellen (M.E.) Cooper
  • July 31, 2001 - I just wanted you to know I really enjoyed your latest book, Trouble in Trinidad. I couldn't put it down. Pat Hubbard
  • July 30, 2001 - I want to thank you for the copy of Undaunted.  I haven't taken the time to read a book for several years, I guess due to uptight & time problems with business.  I decided to take time and read your book over the weekend. A great story, couldn't put the book down.   It really kept my interest up while I was trying to determine if Candidate Billings really did it.  What a surprise finish; too bad that Nurse Rita took her life but probably the only way out for Stan.  I'll bet other Stan Turner adventures are equally as exciting.  My eyes appreciated the larger print on white paper.  Thanks to you I have re-found a great way to relax and forget the outside world for a while! Bill Taylor
  • July 22, 2001 - Trouble in Trinidad is WONDERFUL.  I received it today, and could NOT put it down.  I think it's the best book I've read this year. Like I said before, I think you are extremely talented, and this book is headed for the best seller list!   I will definitely be recommending this one to friends!  Please let me know if/when you will be having any future book signings in the Garland/Richardson area. Thank you so much for the opportunity to get a sneak preview!  It was great!!!! Ronda H.
  • July 16, 2001 - Trouble In Trinidad was a smooth fast enjoyable read. The island scenes held tight the romance entwined with suspense and action. This style of fiction is one of my favorites. Ginger Porter
  • July 8, 2001 - Well, you definitely have a new fan.  I just finished Second Chair and LOVED it. The story line and plot twist kept me on the edge of my chair.  This is the first of your novels that I have read (you were kind enough to sign a copy for me), and I fully intend to visit my favorite Barnes & Noble (in Richardson) tomorrow to pick up copies of your previous books. Ronda
  • June 29, 2001 - I have read all your books and loved them ... Please keep writing more. I love the size of the prints and books. Clair Lauinger.
  • March 7, 2001 -Well you did it again.  This book had me on edge once again.  The twists and turns kept me wanting to know what was going to happen next. Just when I thought Stan was going to drown, he comes up again fighting for his life.  It seem that I know Stan and Rebekah just like next door neighbors.  They complement each other so well.  But the twists and turns kept me guessing what was coming next, but I was surprised all the time.  I will be looking for your other books.  I feel that you are an excellent writer and  story teller.  Keep up the good work and maybe we'll meet again.  Good luck to you and your family. Sincerely, Jesse
  • February 27, 2001 - Hello, please consider me your newest fan, at least for the next five minutes. I just finished Undaunted. I picked up an autographed copy at the Hastings in Norman, OK. I purchased it with a Christmas gift certificate from my sister.  I bought Second Chair thinking it was the second Stan book.  I should have looked before I leapt. I now have to wait five days for Brash Endeavor to be delivered to the Barnes and Noble in Norman, OK. Can you believe it was out of stock. What a travesty. I don't know if I can sit (pun intended) on Second Chair while waiting for Brash. I am a law librarian for the Oklahoma Tax Commission, Legal Division. I can't wait to tell all of my colleagues about this series. Happy Researching. Brenda Miller, Law Library.
  • February 12, 2001 - Such a wonderful gift! It was tremendous. Immediately after receiving Brash Endeavor, I started reading it but put it down thinking I wouldn't enjoy the work. After picking it up a few weeks later, I could not stop reading. Your story was so intriguing. I could imagine the places. Reading about Texas is thrilling. You made the events seem real. I am looking forward to finding your other books. Nancy Pierce.
  • February 1, 2001 - Look at the time!!! I started reading Second Chair on Sun. soon as I bought it from you at Hastings in Brownwood, Texas, read until my eyes would not stay open anymore then neglected my office work today to finish it------couldn't  put it down. Oh, it has more twists and turns than "Joanna" probably has.  The ending was a complete surprise. My favorite brother is an attorney and so is my sister and one of our sons. I will have more respect for them if that is a sample of how exciting an attorney's life can be. I really like Stan and will read all your books. If you want a beautiful, quiet place on the shores of beautiful Lake Brownwood to recuperate from a book or to come spend time with your "muse" and/or your wife, just call and we'll be proud to have you! I will recommend your book to all my reading friends but won't loan them mine because I wouldn't want to lose it. It will be a good one to read some cold, rainy day sitting in front of our wood burning stove! BW & Doris Phillips.
  • Jan 13, 2001 - I have just finished reading Death Pact. I loved it!  You have a new fan. Nala Giscombe.
  • Jan 11, 2001 - My wife and I met you at the Rockingham Mall in Salem, NH and we got two books from you.  Undaunted and Second Chair.  I have read Second Chair and believe me I enjoyed it very much.  I have read hundreds of books including authors John Sanford, John Grisham, Tautenham, and others and I really feel that this book is just as exciting as the other authors.  I was going to take Undaunted on our cruise in February but I cannot find it right now but I will keep looking for it as I feel it is as good as Second Chair as this one kept me awake because I wanted to know what was going to happen next.  I congratulate you and will continue to get all your books.  I am glad that we stopped to talk to you at the mall.  Good luck to you and your family. JDR
  • Nov 14 2000 - My name is Brad Casalini. I had the pleasure of meeting you last year during the holidays and purchased one of your books. I loved it! I would now like to get some more but I am not sure where to get them. Would you please let me know. Thanks.
  • Oct 12, 2000 - I enjoyed reading an advance copy of Trouble In Trinidad. The plot held my interest and characters were totally spellbinding in their complexities. I will be surprised and disappointed if this is not on the best seller list. I stayed up till midnight to finish it and that is way past my bedtime. When it is printed I will buy a copy for a good gift for someone close to me. Clyde
  • Oct 2, 2000 -  I really enjoyed Second Chair - couldn't put it down! You have an excellent plot and I look forward to finding time to read your others.   Hillary

  • July 31, 2000 - I met you at a book signing at Ridgmar Mall in Fort Worth on July 21, 2000.  I purchased your book and I just wanted to let you know who much I truly enjoyed it.  It was one of those books you just can't put down.  I love to read John Grisham and I really think you and he have a lot of the same qualities.  The book was GREAT!!! • July 11, 2000 -  Just wanted to let you know that I thoroughly enjoyed your book, Second Chair.  I met you at Baybrook Mall on Saturday where  I bought your book.  As soon as I returned home, I started to read it.  I could not put it down.  I read it until bedtime and I continued reading it all day Sunday until I finished it.  IT'S SUPERB!!!    I had never been so absorbed in a mystery novel as I was with Second Chair.  I am looking forward to reading your other novels.  Thank you for recommending this book to me.  I LOVED IT!!!!  Best of Luck!! Martha
  • July 7, 2000- Mr. Manchee, You probably don't remember me, I work at the Hastings in San Angelo, TX.  When I came in for my shift, you talked with me for about 10 minutes about your Stan Turner series.  I must admit I'm not a book reader, being in graduate school at Angelo State I already have enough reading to do.  I must tell you though, talking with you about the books, I wanted to buy them, unfortunately like most other college students I didn't have the money, we said our good-byes and we went on our way.  Ever since then I've been thinking about you books and just tonight, I bought the whole series, all three books, I was lucky to be able to get a signed copy of all three.  The purpose of the email is to just thank you for getting me interested in your books and books in general, I think a majority of Americans like myself have this love affair with the TV, and you have given me a reason to turn it off and pick up a book, besides a school book.  I'm not by any means a person who is easily persuaded, my fiancé could attest to that, but you did and that means something to me and I hope it does to you too.  Thank you for making me a better person. • June 19, 2000 - I met you at Hastings in Odessa TX.  I kind of passed you up at first and then I went back and heard you talking to someone else.  I listened a little more closely and really wanted to buy the Stan Turner series.  I picked up Undaunted and you signed it.  I was really excited I told my parents and my grandma that I got an author to sign my book.  I read the book and really enjoyed it.  It was over to fast.  I went and bought the second one Brash Endeavor. I finished it in one day.  You have made me want to purchase every book you write.  Please keep on writing Stan Turner sequels.  Good luck to you and your family. Thanks. Donna Torbett
  • May 6, 2000 - I met you at Waldenbooks at the NW Mall in Houston a few weeks ago. You signed a copy of Brash Endeavor for me. I just wanted to let you know I really enjoyed it. I really like the way you write. I gave Brash Endeavor to a friend and he loved it too. I will definitely be picking up your other books. Thanks for coming to Houston. Richard B.
  • May 1, 2000 - I have read all of your books to date and have enjoyed your style of writing. I am currently waiting on "In Search of a Virgin." Please keep on writing... thanks.  James Sparks
  • March, 20, 2000 -I was introduced to your writing about a month ago when I picked up a copy of "Brash Endeavor" out of curiosity on a bargain table at a Hastings store in Amarillo. I am a dry land wheat farmer/rancher out here by Happy. John D. McDonald and his Travis McGee (I have all 21 of the series) got me hooked on continuing heroes in mystery novels for entertainment some time ago. His death has left quite a void. John Grisham helped to fill it; but, his tales lacked the continuity and mystery. I have read all JA Jance's Joanna Brady mysteries and also all of Michael McGarrity's Kevin Kerney's four books. The Southwest is a wonderful place that few people have chosen to write about in current time. Larry McMurtry's epistles from the past don't fill this need.

You give a fresh enjoyable read to Stan Turner's trials and joys. I enjoyed the description of Amarillo, Cisco and our part of the world. I went back to Hastings and found "Undaunted" last week and finished it last night. I wish I had found it first and been able to read them in sequence. It was a well told story with a surprise ending I had not anticipated. I had spent two years (61-63) in the Army in D.C. area and felt like I was reliving some of that time. I will try to find "Twice Tempted". Thanks for including your web page, it was good to learn of the new book coming out in June.  Bob McCasland,  Happy, Texas.
  • January 7, 2000-letter to L.C. Hayden. "Just loved your book When Collette Died.  I liked it even better than Who's Susan?  I didn't realize that you were affialited with William Manchee. I got a couple of his books at ClueFest and intended to write him - I think he is a better writer than William Bernhardt, who everyone makes such a fuss over. • December 29, 1999 - Just a note to let you know I read your book Death Pact. I found it a good read, especially from the "legal standpoint" and enoyed the Dallas perspective. Betty DeGan
  • October 23, 1999 - Althea Zamzow - - Fond du Lac, Wisconsin I couldn’t put it down. My husband, in his desperation to buy me a birthday present, was in Waldenbooks in Forest Mall, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, on the day you were in there to autograph your book. He made a purchase, hoping I would enjoy it. I am happy to say I thoroughly enjoyed your book. I found it well-written and enjoyable, and once I started it, I could not put it down until I finished it.
  • October 11, 1999, Dana, a 27 year old lawyer from Dallas, (Death Pact) A heart warming thriller. It was the most outstanding suspense romance I have ever read. She was a true women and it was fun to read all the law jargon. I couldn't put it down. Read it, you will go nuts. I even intend to let my husband and six year old (when she gets older) read it. They might learn something. A reader from BarnesandNoble.com
  • October 13, 1999 - Dear Mr. Manchee: I met you in Jacksonville, Arkansas when you had a book signing there, I bought one (Death Pact) that you signed for my mother who had had surgery.  She read it and loved it! I am about to start reading it, as the book club I belong to is going to read it for review on November the 9th. I just hope we can get the five books that Books-a-Million said they could get for us. Anyway, I wanted to tell you this, and with your permission will report back our thoughts on your book. Or you could join us for our book club that night! Just kidding, I
am sure that would not be very convenient for you. Seriously, I will let you know our thoughts!
    Take care!

  • October 2, 1999 - Death Pact. What a wonderful book! William Manchee has written such a good book. Not only does he surprise the heck out of me with the ending, but he keeps you hooked with every page. His plots are fresh, the characters very unique, and his words seem to paint the pictures in my head. Move over Grisham and Turow, there is a new face in town... William Manchee! A reader from Milwaukee (from Amazon .com)
  • August 1, 1999 - I just finished reading Brash Endeavors.  I really enjoyed it.   Now
having read 2 of the Stan Turner Mysteries....I will be eagerly awaiting, the rest of the series.  Keep up the good work!! Jeandiata.
  • July 27, 1999 - Death Pact. Fun, interesting read that keeps you guessing. I found Death Pact to be a captivating read. Manchee takes the reader down a path of twists and turns that are totally unexpected and tops it off with an ending no one will guess! A reader from Texas. (from Amazon.com)
  • July 8, 1999 Just finished reading Brash Endeavor and enjoyed it. Keep up the good work. Glad Mr. Turner knows what it's like to be poor. Betty Young
  • June 15, 1999. I met you at Barnes & Noble Bookstore in Bend, Oregon. I thoroughly enjoyed your mystery novel (Brash Endeavor) about Stan Turner attorney extraordinary. I had a hard time finding a stopping point each time I had a chance to read. It was the first book I read out of the pile of nearly 8 books I had bought to read. Nina Hurst
  • May 17, 1999 Re Brash Endeavor: Excellent story; Stan Turner is a likable, believable character.
This was my first Stan Turner mystery, but it won't be my last. The story unfolded with plenty of twists to keep me reading well into the night, yet I felt as if I could walk into Stan Turner's office and say 'Howdy!' He seemed that real. The setting made me feel right at home, even though I've never seen an oil well come in. The suspense built continuously, surprising me all the way to the end. Bill Manchee spins a good yarn, and Stan Turner is a believable, likable character that I plan to read again and again.

  • March 30, 1999 Aunt Ruth told me that see doesn't usually ready mysteries, but when she started yours (Brash Endeavor) she found herself not wanting to put it down.  She reads at night before she goes to bed and her eyes will only let her read for so long.  She said that the next day she found herself rushing about doing her chores so that she could get back to the book to find out what was going to happen! Darline
  • March 29, 1999 - Your book is great (Undaunted).  My neighbor is a mystery fan and she borrowed it.  Says she hasn't read such a good one in a long while.  Looking forward to your next one.  Kay O.

  • March 12, 1999 - William, I also got your book (Undaunted) and couldn't put it down! It was very good. At first I thought it was so easy and I was getting it all....until it came to a twist and I had been misled all along! Very good book. Mimi

  • January 4, 1999 - When I was first given a copy of Undaunted, another Stan Turner mystery also written by William Manchee, I put it aside - I’m not a reader. The day came when I had nothing else to do (I was working switchboard) so I picked it up and began to read. I was immediately drawn into the characters’ worlds and found myself unable to put the book down until I knew what happened to everyone! The only bad part to the book was that there was no more to read. I wanted to know where these characters’s lives would take them in the future. Then, I was given a copy of Brash Endeavor! Mr. Manchee knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat. Brash Endeavor is the continuing story of Stan Turner’s life as a lawyer in Dallas, Texas. In both books, Stan Turner seems to attract trouble, and many times, unusually good fortune. Mr. Manchee has a way of making you seem like you’re there in the story . . . and I’m already trying to find out if there is another Stan Turner Mystery in the book stores. Mr. Manchee has my loyalty as a reader and I hope he continues to write more of the Stan Turner mystery books.  Linda A. Taylor

  • December 26, 1998 -Thanks for coming to our store to sign your great books. We sold twelve that day and we'd love to have you back anytime. Nancy Cruz, Hastings Entertainment, Denton.

  • December 13, 1998 - Just a note to thank you for sending me a copy of your recent book, Undaunted. I trust that your stay in PA was pleasant (I hope) and that your trip back to the Lone Star state was a safe one. It was very nice to meet you at the Coventry Mall in Pottstown, PA, not to mention your sending me your work, gratis. You've proven, yet again, that Texans are among the friendliest folks on earth. My wife and I truly miss that aspect of life. Moving back to the northeast, after spending six years in San Antonio, we've really noticed the difference in the general attitude.

  • November 9, 1998 - I met you Friday night at Hastings in Longview and I bought one of your books. I read it and thought it was great! Good job! I will be buying your other books. Tom Cotton, Longview, Texas

  • October 9, 1998 9:11 a.m - Ren Zilla - I don't think you remember me. We met last night at Barnes & Noble while you were promoting your book(Brash Endeavor). My name is Orendat. . . . Anyway, I started reading your book last night, and am already half way through it. It's wonderful! I can really relate with many of the characters. I too am from Montreal, and just moved here 2 years ago. How ironic? Anyhow, I just thought that you might be interested in my review of the book. This is the first time I have read one of your books, and will probably pick up the others if they're as good. I noticed that your cover says it's a "Stan Turner Mystery" . . . does that mean you'll be continuing in future novels with this character?  I hope all is well, and will be looking forward to reading more of your work.

  • August 18, 1998 - My name is Charles Harding, we met at Hastings in Norman, Oklahoma. I have started reading your book,(Brash Endeavor) and I'm very impressed! Realistic, inviting, and very clear thought. ...

  • August 7, 1998 - I enjoyed Brash Endeavor.  When you referred to various streets and buildings I knew just where you were talking about and that made it even better!  I look forward to reading your other books.  Thanks for the autograph at Hastings.

  • November 26, 1997 - Miogene Alexander - I would like to take this opportunity to THANK YOU for choosing Hastings to help promote your books, "Twice Tempted" and "Undaunted". . . .The feedback that I have received from all of the locations has been GREAT!!
