Tarizon is on the verge of a civil war when he arrives there a year later and Peter soon finds himself right in the middle of it. The fight is between the Purists who that want to rid Tarizon of a growing mutant population and eliminate all non-human intelligent life-forms, and the Loyalists who want to restore the Supreme Mandate that guarantees freedom and basic rights for all humans and other intelligent life forms. Videl Lai, founder of the Purist party, has just seized power and the Loyalist Party’s only hope of deposing him rest in a prophecy that foretells of a Liberator from Earth coming to destroy an evil dictator who has murdered or enslaved all who oppose him. The prophecy is to be fulfilled on the night Tarizon's two moons eclipse and, although the Loyalists don't necessarily believe in the Prophecy, Peter's fortuitous arrival on the night of the double eclipse is too great an opportunity to pass up. Counselor Garcia, the leader of the Loyalist Party, meets Peter on his arrival and assigns him a young woman named Lucinda as a guide to help him adjust to his new life. Peter learns of the Prophecy when he is stranded with Lucinda in a mutant sector of the city and meets a three-headed mutant named Threebeard. Threebeard tells Peter that he is the Liberator mentioned in the Prophecy but Peter dismisses the idea as nonsense. He does, however, accept Councilor Garcia’s invitation to be his intern at the Council of Interpreters. As time passes Peter falls in love with Lucinda, realizes he is the Liberator, and begins the adventure of a lifetime. "Tarizon: The Liberator is a gripping page-turner with a unique plot, fascinating characters and an electrifying ending." H. J. Ralles, Author of the popular young-adult science fiction and fantasy novels, Darok 9 and Keeper of the Kingdom.
